End of Summer Giveaway!
Time for a giveaway! :-) I've been wanting to share this wonderful book with you all and have been gathering together some things for a giveaway, and so there you have it. :-) Voila! An "End of Summer Giveaway." :-)
They Call Me Mother Graham is one of the most encouraging reads for Moms that I have found . . . I've read this book, written by Billy Graham's mother Morrow in the past and picked it up again recently. Oh, how the Lord spoke to me through it!
Morrow provides little details of how she and her husband came to a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and what their family life was like in the years when Billy Graham was young. Her words were so helpful to me as a Mom of young children--her determination to put the Lord first and to teach the Bible to her children from when they were very young spoke to my heart as well as her gentle, consistent discipline and admonishing of her children toward the Lord from when they were tiny.
She was also a woman of great faith and persistent prayer; this was impressed upon me as well. Morrow pleaded before the throne of grace for her children, and I believe that part of the fruit of her prayers was Billy Graham's ministry and life's work.
Every Mom should read this book; truly.
Now books are wonderful and necessary for life, ;-) but so is chocolate and coffee ;-) and so I have also included the latter in this giveaway. I found this chocolate bar in a local store in my (new) home state (if I had still been living in Rhode Island, you would have gotten a clamcake ;-))--it looked exceedingly delicious and miraculously, I have not sampled it yet ;-)--and so I included it in this giveaway.
This coffee piqued my interest (especially the fact that it may be prepared hot or iced (versatility! ;-)). Always important in a good coffee drink. :-)
There is also a little "coffee" basket included in the giveaway, just to reinforce the merits of that delightful drink one more time.
I hope that you enjoy this giveaway; please feel free to share about it with others and to enter every day with the "free entries" option.
I pray that each of you is having a blessed, restful summer and are refreshed to enter into the coming Autumn with joy. The Lord bless you, each one.

ReplyDeleteOh my, so many influential books! One that I have come back to again and again is "Discipline: The Glad Surrender" by Elisabeth Elliot. I'm also currently re-reading "Stepping Heavenward" by Elizabeth Prentiss - it was a gift from my mom when I was 14 and I am so edified time I read.

Mrs. Neal,
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful giveaway! An awesome book that I most recently read was “A Penny Parcel” by Avery E. Hitch. It is a sad, but beautiful story of God’s love and forgiveness and grace....and exemption. It’s one everyone should read. :)
Love in Christ,
Ashley
Created to be His Helpmeet by Debi Pearl is one of the many books that have influenced my life. Thanks so much for the giveaway!!

ReplyDeleteI love reading books that inspire us to be better mothers. Better people. I am currently reading and inspired by, An Imperfect Woman by Kim Hyland.
ReplyDeleteSo many books but the latest I have been reading is an older one from Lehman Strauss called In God's Waiting Room: Learning through Suffering.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read such a book. Thank you for the giveaway! What fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI did not even know Billy Graham's mother wrote a book. It sounds like a lovely read. And the giveaway is generous and includes two of my favorite things - coffee and chocolate! Thanks so much for sharing with us at the #LMMLinkup. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to answer the question! Several books have had an impact on me and it's hard to choose one. "Hidden Art" by Edith Schaeffer, "Mere Christianity" by C.S.Lewis and many more.
ReplyDeletePsalms has had the most influence. I cant say that all the other books I have read have never influenced me because they all have! Lately I have been struggling with faith. What better book to brighten your spirits and soothe your soul than Psalms? "The Lord is my Shepard I shall not want ..." Psalm 23-28 KJV runs through my head almost everyday. I am a single mom who has been so blessed I wish I could testify my entire story here but it would take a lot of time. I will tell you that the Lord heals and comforts and catches you when you fall. "The Lord is my Shepard I shall not want"! He got me and my son out of a terrible relationship. He healed me when I was sick. He loved me when I had no love. He forgave when I couldnt. Psalms.
